Title: Conditioning crystal call?
Post by: mozer67 on May 14, 2013, 10:43:40 PM
What is the best way to condition my crystal pot call? I tried a piece of scotchbrite but doesn't seem to work that well, seems like surface is getting too smooth ! Thanks for any advice !

I've used 80 grit or a conditioning stone.

Conditioning stone works well, as does medium grit drywall paper, sand just one direction, not back and forth.  Good luck!

I use a Primos Slick Stick that works really well.

HEAD OVER TO YOUR LOCAL LOWES OR HOME DEPOT AND PICK UP SOME OF THOSE DIAMOND DUSTED WHEELS FOR THE DREMEL TOOL, I USE THEM ALL THE TIME FOR MY CRYSTAL OR GLASS AND EVEN ON CERAMIC POTS.....PAPPY
JUST RUN IT BACK AND FORTH USING YOUR THUMB FOR PRESSURE AND FOLLOW UP WITH SOME SCOTCH BRITE.

Yelp, drywall screen works for me too. I will hit it with a stone once or twice a season, but most of the time drywall screen works good.
