Well, I was running a little late this morning it was daylight when I made it to the woods. I decided to go to an area I usually hunt later in the morning. 6:15 am I sat down and heard a gobble below me, I yelped two and got ready. All of a sudden, right behind me this big guy pitched out of a tree. I jumped up repositioned myself and let out a couple purrs and a cluck. He was walking away so as soon as I had a little clearing I sent a swarm of hevi•shot 6's his way. Dropped in his tracks at about 40 yards. 17.5 lbs almost a 10inch beard. 7/8 in spurs.
It was the last day I was going to be able to hunt, I was back home by 7:00am. Not a bad morning
