Title: Texas Rios?
Post by: BP1992 on May 06, 2013, 01:46:54 PM
Anybody have any reccomendations on some good TX outfitters with a lot of birds?  Not looking to hunt with a guide, just looking for a good place that has a good amount of birds and offers unguided hunts.

I went with McCrea Outdoors about 5 years ago and it was a great hunt.  It was unguided.  They give you radios and you call in when you kill one or want to come in.  They dropped you off and would tell you where the birds were, so I didn't see the need for a "guided hunt" anyway.  Kenny is a class act, good Christian feller.  http://mccreaoutdoors.com/

You might want to check out stormranchhunting.com. They are not too far from Austin, Texas and assign you to a pasture (usually 500 acres) and turn you loose. Believe their prices are $250 a bird, limit 2 birds.

I've been seriously considering McCrea Outdoors.  Did you see a lot of birds when you went?  Kill any?

Me and my dad hunted only 2 days because the weather got awful.  We both killed 2 birds.  Plenty of birds
