I'm sure glad I don't run into these things.  Hope all you guys have some good snake boots...

Years ago I hunted in a club in the big bend area of Florida. Got there about mid day on Fri. and was going to try and roost some birds that evening, hunt Sat. and Sun. morning and then go home. In that short amount of time I killed 2 pigmy rattlesnakes, 4 good sized cottonmouths, and about a 5 ft. diamondback. That was some of the snakiest country I've ever seen.

I question the validity of this article.  It appears more an advertisement under the guise of a reported event.  I have had this forwarded to me from people who never do anything outdoors.  Somehow it has gone viral.  It is definitely posted on every hunting site I have been to.

Most the turkey hunters that I know where snake boots. With all the snakes in Ga and Fl your crazy not where some protection.

I have been hunting turkeys for about 25 years and have worn snake boots every year.  I cannot imagine going into the spring woods without them.  This may be a good item to have but I would strongly suggest the first item to purchase would be either snake chaps or snake boots.

After my mother called me and told me about this story, I looked into snake bite kits. The info I saw says that they suck out so little poison that the risk of tissue damage outweighs any benefit. I don't know.
