Title: NY Opener - Bird Down
Post by: njdevilsb on May 01, 2013, 08:25:55 PM
I got all the pictures, I just didn't have time to get them posted yet.  Roughly 19lbs, 8 3/4" beard and 3/4" spurs.  Not the biggest bird out there but it was a great hunt and theres still at least 3 out there that we heard but never saw this morning, but we saw them last night, one with some big hooks that we got on the trail cams.  We'll be back after them first thing Saturday morning.  Had a bearded hen come in real early and fluff up at the decoys.  4 other hens are what brought the tom into range.

:icon_thumright: Way to lay em down early. That's what happened with me in Kansas. Layed down a 2 year old the first 2 hours after arriving at my spot, and the nice bird 2 days later.
