I'm just curious if they fly into the roost at a certain time? At dark, after dark, half hour before sundown? I've got a group I've hunted from the same spot, they are there every morning. Haven't seen them the evening before, but we have to stop hunting a half hour before dark & I've been gone a good hour before dark each time.
Just really curious when they return to there bedroom I guess.
Hard to say for certain. I have seen them flying up to roost an hour before sundown. Usually 30 minutes before dark.I would suggest that you put you gun and stuff away to be legal then return quietly to the area and wait til dark.
Seems like these hens are in the same trees every night & the one gobbler that is left is somewhere in the surrounding area.
If I don't get him on Wednesday before my stopping time, I think I'll do just that, get legal & hang around to see what happens. It might provide an ambush location for next afternoons hunt.
