That is the prettiest turkey I have ever seen I think.
Dumb question....but what are the physical differencs in the Gould's and merriams? Killed my first Merriam yesterday and they appear similar to the Goulds.
Good luck!
WOW what great pics, thanks!

I know the tips of their tails are much more white then a Merriams but here is what NWTF has to say.
"Gould's differ by having distinctive white tips on the tail feathers and tail rump coverts which usually separate to show an "eyelash" appearance. Lower back and rump feathers have copper and greenish-golden reflections, not like the faintly iridescent velvety black found on the Merriam's. Gould's body plumage is said to be somewhat blue-green in coloration. Adult females have a less pronounced metallic greenish and reddish sheen and are more purplish".
They are pretty birds !
Beautiful bird, best of luck getting it done!
Absolutely gorgeous!!!
What a beautiful creature the Lord made. Lots of luck on your hunt, I'm envious.
