I hunted with a Blackhawk single point sling this season and really liked it. The sling keeps the gun in front of the body, muzzle down. It's much faster to shoulder the gun for a quick shot at a gobbler on the run. I've missed getting shots off because I had the gun slung over my shoulder using a conventional sling, taking to much time getting the gun into the firing position. Well, that problem has been solved.
Could you post a photo of this set up? I've wondered about getting a single point front sling similar to what I see LE and the Military use.
I have a single point adapter on my 870 it is a plate that goes between the stock and receiver. They come right or left handed, works like a champ

Below is the link to Blackhawk where I purchased the sling. The attachment is sold separately. If you have still have the original Remington stock on your gun you can buy a metal attachment that goes between the stock and receiver. I have the Knoxx Camo Spec Ops Gen I stock on my gun and had to opt for the Blackhawk buckeled strap that attaches around the small of the stock. The new Gen II stock has attaching points already on the stock when you buy it.
