Title: Pot call material (wood, plastic,...)
Post by: dogbox on April 22, 2013, 12:19:24 AM
Being that I have some hearing loss from days gone by, I just though I'd ask for your opinion on pot call material. Is there much difference in slate/glass/aluminum pot call sound quality between wood pot vs plastic pot material?  Many thanks for your input.

With a plastic pot your limited to the sounds the surfaces produce, with a wood pot you can get quite a few different sounding calls depending on what wood is used. You can have two pots with the same surface and soundboard, one being plastic and the other being wood, and have two completely different sounding calls. It depends on the sound your looking for?

This is also true with 2 differant woods for your pot.
