Title: Kansas Youth Success
Post by: WyoHunter on April 21, 2013, 01:57:25 AM
My grandson was successful in the Kansas Youth season this year. The picture doesn't show how big this bird was. It had a 10" beard, 1 1/4" spurs and weighed 24 lbs. The bird started flopping and he ran and stepped on his tail. I yelled to step on his neck but he didn't hear me. Unfortunately a bunch of tail feathers pulled out. That's why the tail isn't the classic tail fan pose. He shot him with my Beretta 391 20 ga., Hevi-13 choke and Federal Heavyweight 7's.

Congrats!  Here's a link to do it yourself instructions for a meat free tail mount that requires you to remove each tail feather individually.  He's already half way there.  ;)
