Mine was 1 1/2 inches atleast 1 of the spurs were. I have no pics of this bird
I was around 10 years old when my dad called it in for me. It was my first bird. I don't think I'm ever gonna shoot one with bigger spurs. Don't even have the spurs or the beard anymore . Stupid dog chewed it up. Tailfeathers and all.
my very 2nd bird was 1 5/8 inches but my neighbor killed one with 1 3/4 inch spurs ill see if i can get a pick of them lol and this is no bs
1 1/4 is my biggest. Called a Rio in for a buddy last year that was 1 9/16! Oh, yeah, it was his first bird!
1 1/4", 12" rope, just over 25 lbs. the best bird I've ever killed and the best hunt I've ever had.
Mine was 1 3/4 from last year. I took him to the taxidermist the next day.
Killed on 7-8 years Ago I really wish I'd mounted it . Had a 12" paintbrush and 1 1/2" spurs 24 lbs and was the prettiest bronze color I've ever seen he was a light buff cold very nice bird ! My neighbor killed one last yrs that had 1 7/8" hooks and was sa harp as needles
In 2011 I killed 2 kings. 1 5/8's in Kentucky and 1 1/2 in Tennessee.
Here the 1 5/8's

And here's both of em side by side. (http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o744/19onpoint85/90F96FC0-825E-47E1-AEEF-7093178DEA57-1862-0000023B7F0251EF_zps298a44f0.jpg)
2011 was a very good year for me. Ive got 4 birds with 1.5"+ and 2 of em was in 2011. It took 3 years to get the big one and it all came together on a rainy morning that I almost didn't even go. The one with the black spurs wasn't all that hard to work in but it was very rewarding cuz I took him on public land. It's always a good feeling to get a king on public land.
Last year 1 3/4".

Kansas bird 3 years ago had 1 1/4" on one side and 1 3/8" on the other.
I shot a gobbler north of Lake City, FL three years ago that had 1 3/4" spurs and an 11 1/2" beard. I had him mounted gobbling on limb and he hangs in my great room and gets lots of compliments.
You fellas have bagged some really impressive birds! My best so far is an Osceola that had 1-3/8" & 1-1/4" spurs and an 11-1/4' beard. It was also my first bird back in the fall of 2002. I have been trying to beat it ever since.
This morning...a 1 9/16 and 1 10/16 big Eastern...great hunt, worked him 2 hours hard and heard him at first light long way off. You know they will be special before you pull the trigger when you mess with one for that long.
2" spur and 1 15/16" spur

slamman,
That is incredible.
Three or four with 1 3/8 spurs, one gobbler with 1 1/2 spurs (he is going to be mounted) and another with 1 7/16 spurs (both killed this year), one gobbler with 1 5/8 spurs (he is mounted), and several with 1 1/4 and 1 1/8 spurs. I have definitely been blessed in the spurs department. I have a friend who says the long spurs are attracted to me. I say it is just luck, but I hope it stays that way. :) One morning I killed two birds at Ft. Campbell and one turkey had 1 3/8 spurs and the other had 1 1/4 spurs. I will try to round up some pics and post them later. God Bless.
Holy crap slamman, be careful around those things. They look deadly.

I have killed a couple with 1 3/8 spurs, and probably at least a dozen with at least 1 1/8 spurs.
I've killed several with 1 3/8" or better, but a friend killed this one a few years back. He gobbled once on the roost and then came in silent. He had 2" and 1 15/16.
