I got a great deal - $25 - on this HS Strut jake decoy last year thru a facebook promotion.
Didn't like the looks, so we gave him a facelift. We're gonna do some more painting eventually but he'll do for now
This is what it looked like out of the box

After "facelift" ... We call him the ''Hybrid''

With optional tail fan that we added

nice paint job looks great
did you paint the existing head or attach a new one? I have a caped out turkey and have been thinking about one of these years building my own stuffer decoy in half strut just for fun but never carved out the time. You did a really good job on this one with the decoy mods! :turkey2:
nice paint job
We replaced the head with a molded replica from an inflatable deke.
I wish we could paint that good!
you should send that to the company and show them how you made it better .nice job ..
looks good
Looks great.....
Looks Good!
Looks awesome.. Did you notch out the back of the deek so that fan fits?
Looks good.
I saw a guy this weekend that had that same gobbler head with a long set of bristles slipped over his trailer ball on his truck. ;D

Glued a small steel rod onto the tail fan and drilled a hole in the decoy
I think he's going to fool around and get the soup beat out of himself.
Looks great!
looks good! good luck with it!

HS should hire you to do their painting!
