Title: Shut down in central Mo
Post by: Philippe on April 15, 2013, 01:44:42 PM
Well this was probably the worst opening day i've had. Nonstop cold rain all day and then the wind picked up by 10am. Only had two lone gobbles, for some reason the hens were really vocal today despite the weather.

We got one shot first thing. He lit it up on the limb because of the hen roosted with him and my buddy were having a serious disagreement. When they hit the ground it was total silence. I think the only reason we killed him was because we roosted him last night and got in close this morning. Spent the rest of the day getting wet and cold with no activity.

Just think of all the birds that survived though should be helpful next year.
