Title: An educating season to say the least
Post by: Fireengine70 on April 09, 2013, 09:00:29 PM
It seems that this season that the turkey gods have seen fit to educate me whenever and wherever they can. I have had strutting, gobbling birds all over me this year and cant close the deal, whether it be other hunters on neighboring property, cows, coyotes, ill placed palmettos and pine trees, or just plain bad luck. I havent pulled the trigger on a bird yet. Hopefully my luck will turn around before season ends. On the flip side, I have seen some serious gobbling and strutting this season, thank the good lord that he has blessed me with the opportunities to be in the woods.  :z-guntootsmiley:

I know what you mean! I have a teen that I am helping get started this season and have been trying to make sure he gets the first shot opportunity at each bird. I have been within killing distance of 25 gobblers and jakes this season (some were probably the same turkeys more that once) and have only killed 2 myself.
