Title: Anyone Use Two Mouth Calls?
Post by: Footballer on April 09, 2013, 05:29:20 PM
When trying to sound like multiple hens, most use a mouth call and some type of friction call. However, this illusion can be accomplished by using two mouth calls. I prefer an extra rapsy mouth call paired with one that sounds like a young hen.

Anyone else tried this?

I wrote a brief blog about this if interested: http://www.amcunninghamoutdoors.com/blog/2013/4/turkey-hunting-tip-hands-free-technique-to-sound-like-multiple-hens

I've tried it, but talk about a mouthfull!!!! One tucked in a cheek and one in use, then switch.  I tried three a couple of times, but with both cheeks full it was hard to switch between them!!! Good luck and God bless!!!

I have done this many times, you can take a raspy call and call on it and get the raspy yelps thin flip the raspy call over in you mouth to were the cuts are down and it will make sweet hen yelps. This to me is easyer than having 2 mouth calls in your mouth.

MAD used to make calls with cuts on both the top and bottom reeds that were designed to be flipped over for different sounds!!!! I still have one somewhere.....but can't remember what they called them.  Mine is a split v on one side and ship wreck on the other.
