Received a call from the landowner of a farm I hunt regularly this morning. The call was to inform me not to be surprised when I arrived this weekend at dark thirty. The forest service did a controlled burn on the farm yesterday :happy0064: This farm holds a fair amount of birds but was THICK with undergrowth. I'm pumped! I have killed birds before on burned ground with the stumps still smoldering...can hardly wait for the weekend :OGani:
Good luck. Usually burned land is a magnet for turkeys IMO.
lucky... my first year turkey hunting (2011) the area of public land I was hunting had been recently burned.
Good luck! They sure do love those burns
Good luck to you and why do turkeys like burned areas curious thanks.
Don't miss (:
