I have never hunted turkey before, but at the encouragement of a friend, I decided to hunt the spring, 2013 season.   Being only 3 weeks long, it helps being retired.  I did not hunt opening weekend, but got started the following week.  This morning I scored my first tom.   Not a huge bird by any standard, but he was taken legally, honestly, and with much effort.  And dang, but it was fun.

My friend says I'm now officially "hooked".     I think he's right....lol

Congratulations!  My daughter killed her first this morning and it is an understatement to say she is hooked. It will get in your blood quickly!
