Title: FF III on Browning Safari
Post by: btmonnat on April 01, 2013, 07:50:45 PM
Anyone ever tried a FF III on a deer rifle? Just curious. Seems like one would work well in woods where long shots will not be taken. I wonder if it would take the recoil of my 30-06 Browning Bar Safari. What do you experts think. I am quite sure I can get a weaver base and use the picattiny mount.

This isn't exactly a 30-06 but it'll answer the question about recoil.

This is a FastFire I on a 405 Winchester double rifle built by Clark's Custom Guns.  The buffalo was shot at 130 yards and was a one shot kill.  The impala was just past 100 yards.  I had to crop out our customer cause I didn't have permission to post the pictures although I'm sure he wouldn't mind showing off these pics.

I hope that helps

Trust me....if that thing will stand up to a Mossberg 835; the 30-06 will be a cakewalk.

Thats really cool stuff right there!I often thought about qr mounts on my .375 rem ultra mag so i could swap the scope out  for a sight like the ff3I'm .pretty sure a ff3 would handle the recoil if it can handle a 835 mossberg. What ya think?Might just have to be a late summer project for me now!....ward
