Title: What loads should I try?
Post by: davisd9 on March 07, 2011, 08:18:21 AM
I have a Mossberg 835 and just recently found a Star Dot choke for it.  I was wondering what load suggestions there are for this combo.  I will shoot a 3.5" shell but are leaning to a 3".  For the choke being a .676 constriction I was thinking 5, 6, or 7 shot would be best for patterning.  IF I can get 225 - 250 in a 10" circle then I am happy, do not want to shoot a rifle like pattern at him at 15 yards, lol.  I am very thankful for any suggestions.

If you are talking lead I would go with Wim supreme #6 shot.

go with the 3" 2oz #7 Hevi13 shells.....lead won't get you those kinds of numbers at 40 yards

H13 3.5 6's should give you those numbers. If you stick with the 3", you'll need to use h13 7's.
