I seen that choke on there a day or so before this was posted.

I believe that choke had writing on the tube.  None of my original Star Dot chokes had writing on the tube.  So that leads me to believe it is not an original Star Dot choke.  That more than likely is  a choke that Highlander Sports copied from the original StarDot with some other choke maker after Colonial Arms stopped making chokes for Highlander Sports due to the fact that Highlander Sports wasn't paying their bills. But it could be some of the later chokes that Colonial Arms made and they started putting Moss 835 on them.  I don't know.  But if on the other side of that choke it says Preston Pittman on it then it is fact a copy from what the owner told me.

I think the first chokes made just said 835 on them and had the straight cuts on the end. I have one that I got new in the package many many year's ago and it was a choke sight combo and from what I understand they started out that way then just sold chokes packaged with out sights? I believe there was another post where someone got one new in the package and it said 835 with the straight cuts? I have my old package but I can't figure out how to upload pics.

Nate, I answered your pm.

And I will say here to the best of my knowledge why would Colonial Arms put the make and model of the choke on the very earliest model sight packed Star Dots only to leave the make and model off of the later ones?  That to me don't make any sense and I can't see it.  I looked at all the chokes that Walmart had of the Star Dot chokes in the 90's and not one had any writing on the tube.  So that would lead me to believe that any Star Dot choke with writing on the tube wasn't an original Star Dot made by Colonial Arms.  Now I could be wrong.  And I had a choke that had knurling on the end like I have now and the other one with straight grooves and each had no writing.
