I will be there with both of my kids.  It would be pretty neat to kill a Spring bird in the snow.  It is their Spring break week.  It is supposed to warm up nicely Tuesday and Wednesday.
I suspect they haven't broken up really good yet.  What a difference  a year makes.  Last year, everything was ahead of schedule and this year it seems everything is behind.

Yeah...I went out there last year for the first week of May, and the wheat was already too high in a lot of farms to hunt.

I live around KC and they are still in big groups so it going to,be at least a few more weeks for them to get turned on real good.   What part of Kansas are y'all going to?

I usually hunt north central around the Nebraska border...Washington, Republic, Jewell counties and that area.  Just printed off my tags yesterday.  I will probably wait until May to go, though.

Well I went out this morning and only heard one gobble.  What I found was good though.  Had a nice bird at about thirty yards.  He was with 8 other toms. I did see numerous fields with birds and got a couple of cool pictures I will post up this afternoon.

The camera auto focused on the trees, but the bird was only about 30 yards from us.

I talked with dlewis82nd and he tagged out this morning with a jake and a gobbler.  It is cold, windy, and raining but he got it done.  I'll be headed there Friday, so hopefully I will be able to get in on the action.

Tagged one Monday in south central Kansas...cold and windy...couldn't get one to gobble but he strutted a lot and made it within 35 yards of my grandsons 20 gauge...got to stand on his neck!  Snowed in SC Kansas today...cool and windy in north central and northeast.

Called this one in for my daughter Monday morning.  Only heard two gobblers and this one came in by himself.  Now it's little brothers turn for the Missouri youth hunt this weekend.  We were hunting near Ottawa.

I'll be down there.  Heading down tomorrow afternoon.  Looks like it'll be wet and cool the first couple of days.  My uncle said that as of last week, the birds were still grouped up.

I was scouting around KC last weekend. Heard a big group of gobblers roosting together. Then I saw two hens walking alone. After that saw a lone gobbler strolling across the field within 20 yards of me. Then yesterday I saw a group of 6 hens with a strutting gobbler in a field by my church.
