I have a Rem. 870 12 ga. with a Bansner .645 sleeve is this to tight for #6 Turkey Thugs?
Only you will know for sure. There has already been a post showing 690-655 with no appreciable decline in numbers . I do know that the old whites and Win Supreme #6s liked tight chokes.
Those shells will have noticeable recoil on a 643 choke. I do know that.
I myself have'nt really seen any benefit when shooting lead loads of going tighter than .655. And in a lot of cases you will tend to blow the pattern. I know short barrels will tend to like tighter chokes sometimes. And some guys are getting some good pattens with the TruGlo SSX .643 chokes in your gun. But that's not to say they couldn't be getting even better patterns with the right choke in .655 to .675 sizes as well. But having said that I had a 21" barrel 870 that I used to shoot a Hastings .640 out of. I think the center mass of pattern was better, but for overall patterns the .665 was probably better.

Slight correction: .690 to .650
I patterned 5 chokes altogether. .690, .675, .665, .655, & .650
All were pretty good patterns, but the .665 was the best overall.
The Thugs aren't too picky about chokes.
I have a Banser 665 choke and with the Thugs 6 shot I got 118 in the 10 at 40. Been wanting to try the Thugs 5 shot .
I just shot the thugs 3.5 2oz 6's out of my new 870 SM with the jellyhead .660, all i have to say is they are mean! Probably the best lead shells i've seen, but i still need to try the ole winny supreme 3.5 2 1/4 6's.
I'm pretty new at this pattern thing but i shot thug 6s through my ssx which is .643 and got 142 in 10" at lazered 40. So needless to say i am plenty happy with that and will be hunting that setup this spring.
Those were 3" 6s by the way

Did you try any other chokes to see if you could improve on that or not? Just curious. That ain't bad.
And tell us what gun and barrel length.

What gun/barrel length ?
You have to remember that some guys don't get all technical about their results.
140+ with any Lead shell at 40 Yards is good through any gun or choke. It was not super common to see that prior to the Federal Turkey Thug shells, but the Thugs make it easy. Even "my" 870 broke 140, but it still took the right choke in that gun to do it. I tried 5 chokes in all.
It turned out like this in my 870:
.665 did best
.655 and .675 were about equal
.690 had a lot in 20"
.650 had a lot in 16"-17", but not as many total in 20" as the .690
I believe that .690 was too open, and .650 was too tight.
.655 to .675 is where it's really at with the Thugs in RemChoke.
Think .650 will work in a benelli, since they have tight barrels to begin with? I've got a wrights .650, and an I.C. .665 to try this weekend, also a carlsons dead coyote tube as well, but theres no constriction listed on it.
I shot the thugs 3" #6 out of my 535 with a kicks gobbling thunder .655 at 30 yards, personal comfort zone, needless to say it was a graveyard dead turkey at the other end of the barrel . These are the only shells I've found that throw a good pattern out of my gun. Every time I'm at Wally World I pick up a box if they got the #6s. Really hope federal continues this line of shells or a Long time.

I bet it will. But the IC choke still might beat it. Try all 3 of those chokes.
Provided the weather cooperates, I'm going to do that this weekend. I'll report back when I'm finished!

No i didnt try any other chokes. The ssx is the only super full choke i have for my gun. I shot them out of a win. 1300 with a 28 in. barrel.
