Title: Full Strut Mount Dimensions
Post by: Redfish on March 26, 2013, 12:28:52 PM
I killed my best gobbler this weekend and I'm thinking of getting a full strut mount done. I'm wondering if the completed mount would fit on top of my gun safe. Does anyone have a full strut mount they could give me the measurements of?

I would call your taxidermist.

I haven't chosen my taxidermist yet. Just trying to decide where to put the mount.

Mine is about 2' from back of fan to front breast, 3' 1" to top of fan, and 2' 4" wide with the fan being the widest part. It stands on a oblong base that sticks a little in front of it and a little behind it. Hope that helps. They take up alot of room, if I ever had another one done it wouldn't be in full strut. Killed a good one with 3 beards about 8 or 9 years ago and just had to do it.  ;D Unless your gun case is like one of those huge fire resistant ones you might be hard pressed to get one to fit on top.

I have my on top of my safe. I have 4" to 5" between top of fan and ceiling.

Thanks guys that's just what I needed. My safe is 30 x 24 x 60 and I have 10' ceilings so I think it will just fit.
