Whats your the piece of turkey hunting gear that has stuck with you the longest? It has become your "classic" piece of gear. Post up and I'll put you in a drawin this thursday for a Classic Hen diaphragm.
Mine is my headnet. I've used the same one for ever. It's outlasted several pants and shirts.
My box call (homemade) that my uncle gave me when I was 12. It belonged to his dad & he never used it. I have only used it when I cant get anything to gobble & cant wait for the day when that Longbeard finally does......
My Bug Tamer suit for sure!
I have a pair of gloves that I've used for a long time. Can't find another pair to save my life.

It's currently between my boonie hat and a deer antler turkey tote I made. Think I've had both for about the same amount of time. I suspect the tote is destined to outlast the hat though.
My Lohman Thunderdome Slate Call ! :icon_thumright:
I still have the Lynch's Fool Proof box call my Dad got me when I started
My shotgun.killed a lot of game with it over the years
I have a Preston Pittman mouth call that is all stretched out but I can't throw it away and always carry it with me. Maybe I can replace it with a new Gooserbat.
Thanks your very generous.
had my turkey vest for over 10 years
My camouflage headnet.... purchased in 1985 for a deer hunt in Utah. Have replaced the elastic straps several times.... but it has not faded one iota and I wash it after each hunt along with my other clothes.
I have a little slate (jet style) my dad gave me in 1968 and have carried it every time I turkey hunt. Spring or Fall. The call has many miles on it, and alot of birds has answered it.
:OGturkeyhead: :OGturkeyhead:
Mine is a Lynch Foolproof call that I got before my first season. I still use it.
Mine would have to be my headnet, it has been with me for years. I sprayed myself one year with skunk pee when I was attempting to call coyotes and I swear you can still smell the stuff when I put it on... It didn't help with the coyotes so don't try it!! I got the headnet around 1991 too..
Non-turkey hunting gear I've carried for years is a glass rock I found one year while hunting. I've carried that thing since I've found it.. Sort of like my lucky horseshoe I guess.. Just something extra...
Brought back my mossy oak shadow leaf vest thats been in the closet for grand slam tour this year
My 870
My original Bottomland camo well over 21 years old and still going.
Classic gear is my mouth call case. It's the only thing that I've had with me since I started turkey hunting.
an old turkey tube call and a hen decoy , my boys got me 9 years ago for fathers dad always have it never use it .
An old camo Ranger boats hat that I've had for a long time.I was wearing it when my son called in my first turkey. He took my hat, drew a turkey foot and put the date on the bill.I always wear that hat for good luck and memories of that hunt.
I have two; a leather turkey tote my dad made me years ago, and some toilet paper!!! Its not the same toilet paper I startd with, but its like an American Express......I don't leave home without it!!!!!!!

:TooFunny: :TooFunny: You must be related to my dad!! He'll have to go everytime he goes hunting.. Hah, too funny..
My moss 835!
my bug tamer jacket has been with me since 1994 on many Turkey Hunting adventures here in Florida
H.S Black Magic aluminum call.
My trusty old brown Quaker Boy diaphragm call case with the "Boss Gobbler" logo on the lid. I've had it for 22 years and still going strong.
(But don't worry, there's still room for a Classic Hen in there!)
Thanks!!
I always have a camera in my vest so if i ever get lucky and killl one!!!
Doug
old under armour hat...had it about 5-6 years...it's broke in good!
Iv'e got a couple old, old, OLD, smashed up oatmeal cream pie's. In one of my vest pocket's probably ought to tossem, but what if they are what's bring me good luck. They have to stay.
My turkey spur necklace. Shot Tom with one spur and it ended up on a necklace and I only wear it during turkey season, for good luck
I got into hunting in 2010 so I haven't had anything very long.
First camo hat I bought has stayed with me longer than anything else, also a cheap camo T shirt that I still have. I don't always wear the hat, it's somewhat faded from the sun, but I did tag out with it last spring on my last hunt of the season.
Wish I had one of my first tube calls I made when I was just taking an interest in hunting, late 2009/early 2010. I think my first tube was made from an empty spice container with the bottom cut out. I currently use a bamboo tube I made in 2011 but didn't start using until 2012. I put on a fresh reed and it is tuned and ready to go for this season. Already called in a hen and a few jakes in the backyard with it this year, so I am practiced and ready to go.
Also must mention the turkey gun. First gun I ever bought, a NEF Pardner pump 12 gauge. bought it in early 2011, and killed my first turkey with it that spring. Still hunt with it, heavy as lead, but it kills em. I have killed 14 birds with it so far (I hunt in the fall too). It will probably stay with me a while too before I get a "better" gun... but for now, it has served me well and I don't see a need to change it.
Hope when I am an old timer, I will still have something saved from when I was just starting out. Maybe the hat or the gun at least....
Mine would have to be my vest it's about 15 years old.
I've used the same turkey vest since I started hunting at 13. Old mossy oak super elite type vest in original breakup :icon_thumright: Second would be my old 11-87, still have her but shes now a backup to my benelli

That might not earn you a freebie but it sure is worth a discount>
It would have to be my lucky shirt. It's what I wear under my camo. It's pretty torn up but I just don't feel the same in the woods unless I have it on.

A good cushion/seat of some kind . if you cant sit comfortably fidgetting is gonna cost you chances at game animals
My first turkey vest
My old face mask
My Wild Turkey Bourbon camo hat. Got it at the convention many moons ago.
Gman
Glass top tg
SGT. Carter
I've had the same old vest I got at walmart for about 10 years or so. It has carried a lot of squirrels and gobblers.

Here it is in all it's glory. Turkeys fear the "Boss Gobbler"!
I carry two locator calls,...and PS Olt crow call and a Quaker Boy tube,...that I have used for decades. They have located thousands of gobblers for me all over the country. They are old friends that are with me on every hunt.
A coin pouch that I put a string on to hang around my neck for my mouth calls, It says "Number ONE DAD"!!! My son gave it to me about 15 years ago!!!
havent been hunting turkey that long but my trusty dusty ol shootin stik!!!!!!!
And the winner is
Rokhal07
