My "Killin' Pot" is a Browntie slate call. The wood is zebrawood and she was brought into this terrible world on March 18, 2009. She shares a birthday with a famous turkey hunter. This morning, a few days after her fourth birthday, she got her 16th kill.
I watched this bird and two partners as try escorted around 15 hens up my ridge. They gobbled, but not vigorously. This one did some serious drumming. It was a beautiful morning in the hardwoods as his big ol white head was glowing in the timber. He has sharp spurs, but only 7/8". He sported a nice 10" beard and I didn't weigh him. He was cleaned and I was at work by 9:03. 8)
