Title: Gonna give the Hevi 7's a try......
Post by: chatterbox on March 24, 2013, 06:34:12 PM
Hey guys!

Well, after much deliberation, I have decided to give the hevi-13 3-2-7's a try. After seeing what guys are getting for patterns with these loads, I figured I would give them a shot. My SSX throws some very even patterns, so I figured I would throw some 7's down the pipe.
I am not looking to extend my guns effective range beyond 40 yards. I for one think 40 yards is a pretty good walk myself. I am more of a 30 yard kinda guy, but I do feel the need to increase my numbers in the 10" circle at 40, since even though I won't probably shoot one at that range, I do like to know I can if I have to.
Anyway, they have been ordered, and are on the way. The rebate does take some of the sting out of the purchase which always helps!
Patternn pics to follow.

The 3" loads will work, but the 3.5" loads are more effective especially for numbers.

Killed a turkey @ 38 steps yesterday morning with hevi 3/2/7's.  Flipped the turkey backwards, flopped a couple times and that was it..tremendous amount of shot in the head and neck.

Just shot them for the first time out of my new Maxus and 3 shots averaged 298 with hevi13 choke and 3.5's.

The 3.5 #6's averaged 240...magblends averaged 210.   I'm thinking that no matter what I shoot I'm good to go but the #7's are impressive.

That will work just fine.  Be sure and let us see some of the patterns.  You will be amazed.
