I read earlier on a different post about there being 2 SSX chokes. One being the TRUGLO Strut Stopper Extreme and another SSX that is rare and the original which sounds like a choke tube collector item. Does the TRUGLO shoot good or what? I ordered a TRUGLO SSX for my 835 thinking it was the correct choke but I'm unsure now. Could anyone clear this up for me?
The original was not called a SSX. SSX is the abbreviation for the currently produced Strut Stopper Extreme.
I believe the original was called the TruGlo Strut Stopper by Bansner, or something like that. No X or Extreme in the name.

Right on the money, 870. The old Strut Stopper had a .665 constriction for most applications. I'm not sure what it was for the Mossberg Ulti-Mag chokes.
Sounds good! Thanks for clearing that up. I've read a lot of people putting up some great numbers with their SSXs so I bought one. I read that post and thought I bought the wrong choke.

Originally, the SSX was called the Strut Stopper Xtreme. It was officially renamed to SSX with "Strut-Stopper Xtreme" still on the package as an identifier.
You ordered the correct choke for your 835.
The older Bansner Chokes are indeed collector items today.
Thanks,
