I just bought a ff III and had a few questions for you experienced burris users. If I break the shot gun down to clean it, it's not going to require sighting it back in correct?
With the FF III it says 3 moa and 8 moa dots. Why would I choose one over the other? Forgive me on this I'm a newbie in this type stuff.
Thanks for y'all's time!
First off, let me say you picked a GREAT sight! I have an FFIII on my 835, and love it.
If you are going to strip your gun down and reassemble it, I would shoot it before the season to make sure everything is lined up. Anytime you remove the barrel, you need to recheck.
Secondly, the 3 MOA vs. the 8 MOA mean miniute of angle. It means that at 100 yards a 3 MOA dot will cover 3 inches of your target, and an 8 MOA dot will cover 8 inches of the target.
Personally, I went with the 8 MOA. At the ranges we shoot turkeys, that is fine. I found the 3 dot too small for my liking, but it's really personal preference.
Good luck to you this spring! :icon_thumright:

Thanks! I just look and the one I got was the 3 MOA but that was all they had at my local store. I do really like it though! I will have to say I was one of those guys that didn't want to go to a red dot style sight. But after shooting it yesterday, I don't think I'll ever go back to just shooting the bead for turkeys!
