Who's shooting this combination and with what choke? What kind of 40 yard/10 inch patterns are you getting?? :OGturkeyhead:
Prior to going the Federal's I shot the Hevi #6's with great results through my 11-87 and one of the very first Mad Max chokes. If you look you can still find the choke, picked one up for my FIL for x-mas. I got it for 19.00, and it would put 200 in the ten all day.

I've been looking for that choke for sometime. It came in 2 different constrictions. Which one did you have??

Hows the choke holding up to the hevi? I have a mad max .655 for my old 11-87 but its stamped "lead only" and was hesitant t try it with hevi. I do shoot hevi out f my kick's GT in my benelli however.
I was wondering the same thing. I want to turn an old 1100 into my go to turkey only gun.
Not sure on the constriction, I gave to to my dad. I will stop down and check it tonight. And It is doing fine, lord knows I have shot a ton of shells through it while on the bench looking for a great combo.
Rhino .660 with #7 3in 2oz HEVI-13: Between 200-210 10in Circle 40yds
HEVI-Shot .662 with #6 3in 2oz HEVI-13: Between 187-200 10in Circle 40yds
Both kill turkeys and kill them quite well.
I just checked and as close as I can tell the ED is .655
The choke was part number # MD 1003
Guys the old MAD Max chokes were built like a tank. One of the thickest steel chokes on the market. You can shoot Hevi-Shot through them. I got one for my 835 and it shoots the Hevi-13 2.25oz #6 loads very well. I think 245 was the best it's done at 40yds in the 10".

Thanks, I'll definitely try mine out with hevi this year. Never hurts to have a spare turkey slayer
