Title: doing a cape mount

Has any one done there own cape mount  ?? Or is it better to take it to someone .And is it hard to do on you own.. What do you need to do one thank's ..

Not hard at all.  Use Borax to cure the skin, follow the crease of the feathers down each side of the neck.  I usually cut down each side all the way to the tail and just peel the skin back.  It gets kind of thin between the wings.  Be careful to not tear the skin there. 
Use some pins or finishing nails and some thick cardboard to fan the tail and position all the feathers.  Make sure you get all the meat and fat around the tail feathers.  Make sure you completely remove the feathers and meat located behind the tail feathers. 
Never have understood why folks pay big money to taxidermists to do fan mounts and capes.
