I'll be shootin lead as well as htl,depending on terrain. So from yalls experience,what do y'all suggest?

A lot of 870 shooters really like the Jelly Head but I've always had better results with the SSX, especially in the shorter barrelled guns. Both are excellent products and I doubt that you'd go wrong with either.

Every gun is different, but a .660 jelllyhead is hard to beat right out of the box in a 870.
