Title: sbeii. speedbead to ffii
Post by: hunterturf on February 21, 2013, 09:07:18 PM
I have a sbeii with a speedbead on it, it rips the skin off my knuckle with the 3.5's, anyway......dropped my gun off to get drilled and tapped, what do I need to move it up top??? I've read on here about a 336 base???? Is that for the bottom part of the ffii ..  do I need a picatinny (sp?) Rail???  Any help is appreciated, thanks fellas

you can either drill and tap for the marlin 336 mount then attache the FF to that base or you can have it drilled and tapped for a weaver/pic rail and the purchase a picatinny base and mount those to the rail.  Marlin 336 sits lower and looks better.

The Marlin base looks great and I'm sure works the same. The advantage to the weaver is if you ever decide to use a different sight other than a Fastfire you have that option . I have a weaver base and use the FF2 and it works great.

After talking to the gunsmith, he is going to make a base for the ffii and just put some flat stock for a "rail" to mount it to.  He said it should be lower than anything that would attach to a pic or weaver rail .  Will try to post pics when I get it back, thanks for the help guys.
