Title: camo gun tape
Post by: Rod Severns on February 21, 2013, 06:39:31 PM
I had just found this site and have enjoyed many hours just reading. I would like to cover a gun with camouflage tape and had read on here about a brand that really worked well, but can't find even with search. Could someone offer a recommendation?
Thanks

Look on the web for Mossyoak graphics . If you look in turkey guns on his forum under stoeger 3500, I put those on my gun for 30.00 $  In the Mossyoak site their is a video on how to put the skins on. It was pretty easy.

I've wondered about these camo tapes.... i have questions!

after you do this will it peel off and weather etc pretty quick like over one season or is it more of a permanent deal?

and if you decide to take it off does it come off of the metal and synthetic or wood and clean up back to original condition or will it leave marks/residues etc?

McNett's Camo Tape. It adheres to itself, cloth, reusable and no sticky residue.

X2

Great stuff.  My guns took about a roll and a half each I believe.

That stuff is just camo vet wrap. It will work fine, but it absorbs water like a sponge so if it gets wet, you are gonna promote rust underneath...

I have an O/U that I have been using the HS Strut "No-Mar" brand tape on for the past 5-6 years. I put it on right before the season and take it off immediately after season closes 6 weeks later and I have had no problems with rust or tarnish at all. I only put it on the metal and leave the wood bare. I tried a cloth tape one time that held moisture and allowed a rifle barrel to rust. The no mar is plastic like and water does not penetrate it.
