What has everyone found to be the best choke constriction for Federal 7s out of a Remington 20 gauge? Thanks in advance! :icon_thumright:
They vary per the gun.
Many get good patterns out of the 570 chokes, a pile get good ones from the 562, and some get good ones in the 555 range
Just get a Sumtoy and be ready to shoot lead or HTL through it.
One choke - one price- done.
A Sumtoy .562 5 and a TG SSX .555 have worked best out of mine. A lot of guys have success with the more open RSF chokes but my gun didn't like them at all.
I'm shootin a 20ga Benelli M1 with a sumtoy 562-5 with great numbers from Fed HW #7's and Hevi13 #7's.
Last year I had the same dillema and tried several chokes with no real "winners"! A gentleman named Clark on this forum turned me on to the SSX .550 and it was "Magic" to say the least with my son's 1187 and Federal Heavyweight 7's. I realize all guns have their own pecularities, but it seems this recipe has proven itself time and again in the Remington 20's. Here is a supporting article that may be of interest to you. Good Day.
