Title: The Box Call Thread got me to thinking
Post by: StruttinGobbler3 on February 18, 2013, 12:50:37 AM
I've tossed around the idea of buying either a woodhaven or cody box call for a couple of years. I wouldn't consider eitger of them a true custom call, but i believe they are the best production boxes out there. Which of the two do y'all think makes the better, more realistic box?

Have not heard or operated a Cody.

killed many a bird with a Woodhaven Cherry box call.

Why buy balogna when you can have steak for the same price?

A lot of true custom makers can and will make a box call for you (and have them made already) at prices that beat, match, or barely exceed those mentioned.

Good point..but who's to say that the custom box is better than say a Woodhaven, or Cody. When I bought my Woodhaven (used), I had my choice of several calls and the Woodhaven had the best tone and rollover. I've been well satisfied with it..it has produced many times.

I think with all calls, whether a production or a custom have good calls and bad calls. We hope the producers of both will weed out the bad ones.
