I've been looking for a black steady grip stock for my M1 super 90 without luck. I saw the Mesa Tactical stock for a decent price(without cheek riser). Anyone have any experience with the Urbino stock? I was thinking of a speedbead sight and wonder if the comb is lower than the steadygrip?
You need to be concerned about the amount of drop on the pistol grip stocks versus standard stocks. I bought a Speedfeed IV for a Rem 11-87 and it has a lot of drop, too much for me. I bought it over ATI and others because I thought it had less drop.
I dont own a Mesa Stock - But I can tell you my impression of that company is that they make some very high quality items - If they crossed over from tactical components and into turkey gun related gear they would do very well

BTW, there is a difference and an adjustment in getting used to carrying a gun on a strap with a grip stock. The grip pokes me a lot, and I did not think of that before I put it on. It makes the gun less comfortable to carry slung on one shoulder, it's less noticeable if you sling it across the chest bandolier style. I have to keep my right hand on the grip to keep it from bouncing and poking me so much. I do not have to do that with a regular stock, and thus the old one is more comfortable and practical when moving a whole lot. But I do believe the grip adds a slight advantage when ducking and weaving through a lot of cover as a place to steady the gun.

Would the drop make much of a difference with a scope? I'm assuming if you get your cheek down it should shoot the same? right? I just put a steadygrip on my gun but haven't had a chance to shoot it.
The only way you will have an issue with the drop using a scope is if it is too high or too low for your eye to align with the scope.
Carrying barrel down with a sling or backwards is pretty comfortable with the pistol grip.

Ok, thanks!
