Title: FF3 protector?
Post by: HoggleGobble on February 17, 2013, 04:00:48 PM
On the verge of buying two FF3s, but I don't see a protector on Optics Planet for it... Do they make one, and do I need one. If purchasing this sight, what all do I need to purchase to mount it?

I bought mine last year and while I'm sure a protector would be nice I found that I usually left the rain cover on it must hunts.

The Burris rep on this site stated that optics planet had the new version protector. It is the same part number that it was when it was the FFII protector.

With as banged up as the protector on my FF II is, I would say yes, I will require a protector for my FF III...

If I mount it to the 336 weaver, do I need to purchase the FF3 w/ picatinny mount option? One is $239 and the other is $254... If I bought it w/out the picatinny mount option, how would anyone ever mount it??

In case anyone else was wondering, BurrisOptics advises that yes, it will. Have to remove the protector from its base.
