These are the two calls I've basically been looking at. Which one and why? Thanks.
I have never tried the Hollaran but I will say that my Woodhaven cherry Real Hen sounds great. I would bet that you couldn't go wrong with either one though.
I just picked up the Halloran Purple Heart / cedar box and I think it's one of the best sounding boxes I've ever heard or played if not the best IMO. I'm sure the woodhaven real hen is good also, hard to go wrong either way.
Puple Heart just because of the sound it can produce.
I played both of them at the NWTF show yesterday, and as much as I love WoodHaven mouth calls and pot calls, and as good as the real hen sounded. My vote goes to the David Halloran. Not only was it the best sounding box I played at the show, but it's the best sounding box I have heard ever!
