My old antique bed, head and foot board of south american mahogany. I have turned three strikers from the foot board already and I was looking forward to getting a pot done. I took one of the side rail boards which measures 1-1/4" thick and 3-1/2" tall by 7' long. I proceeded to mark it out for a pot and when I cut it I was suprised to find a yellow and green wood. I turned the hard dark finish from its surface and discovered what I have is poplar. So here is my old bed set, slate over glass.
