Anyone tried one?
The recommended constriction for the mossberg 835 on their site is .680 for lead and .695 for hevi????
You can pick your own constriction, if you had to pick one, what would you choose? Seems like .670 to .676 is the sweet spot for #7 heavy shot.
Opinions?
If someone with some good experience will suggest a constriction, i may order a thunderbolt to try. :blob10:
Call Rhino and tell them what load you are shooting and they will tell you what choke you need.
I would start with the 695 for HTL shot including Nitro's and H13. I would also start with either a 675 or 680 for Winchester HV Lead.
If your shooting 7's HTL 2.25 oz or less loads, I'd look for something between .675-.680. The heavier nitro loads need a bigger choke .690 - .705. HTL with shot larger than 6 might need a slightly more open choke .675 - .690. I've got a few chokes that are close on constriction, but shoot completely different. It tough to know what chokes are going to perform the best without a lot of trail and error. Good luck.
Just purchased one, for my 12g 870 however. I ordered it in .660 constriction and plan on shooting some #7 nitros. Sorry no advice for your 835. Since I couldn't find any info on others patterning with the choke, I am kind of guessing and banking on the information they gave me being correct. But there is always guessing involved, I just hope it patterns well.
The chart on their website was created for their grand slam model choke I think. I would suggest calling rhino and ask for an opinion on the constriction. Make sure you tell them your intentions in regard to shot size. I would tend to think if you are only shooting 7s you could go a little tighter than they recommend.
