Title: Take a kid hunting
Post by: Ticklishtompro on February 09, 2013, 10:04:44 PM
Hey all, I just want to challenge all of you as the turkey hunting season approaches.  Try to take a kid or a newbie out turkey hunting once.  The satisfaction it will bring you and the one you take will be unbelievable.  It doesn't even matter if they shoot one or not, although it definetely helps!  We are loosing new hunters each year and new hunter recruitment is a must.  In WI we are very fortunate to have a DNR that sees this.  The Learn To Hunt program gives free tags to anyone who wants to participate.  It is open to anyone 10 and up who has never turkey hunted before.  Our program doesn't charge anything, and we supply everything they need for the hunt.  Then they are paired up with an experienced, state certified mentor.

With this we are holding a fundraiser for the LTH.  I have posted about it before, but can't do it enough.  The Talk'n Turkey Expo will be March 30th, in Howards Grove, WI.  Check out the website  http://talknturkeyexpo.webs.com/ if you are in or near WI, we are still looking for more vendors.  Any callmakers or anyone who sells anything turkey hunting related.  Shoot me a pm for more info.  No fee for a space.
Or any of you callmakers that would like to donate a call for one of the raffles, we would love it!!  We will list you as a sponsor and a link to your page.

Thanks,
Randy

:icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:  I will be mentoring a youth hunter here in Arizona this spring myself, and I have purchased a few calls to donate to our Youth Camp.  It gives me more pleasure helping a new hunter out then getting a bird myself.
