Can you put and 870 Express Super Magnum barrel on an 870 Magnum receiver?
Anybody? The reason I ask is because I did this last season and at 15 yds, I had pellets from the head to the legs. Wondering if this is the reason.
Yes all the 870 barrels will fit. Now just cant shoot the 31/2 because it will not eject.

I have found that there are 2 first steps to take when having patterning problems with 870s.
The first is to "deep clean" the bore. The second is to make sure that that the magazine cap is tight. If that cap is not tight your barrel can move in the receiver itself and cause a scattering of the shot.
I recommend that you tighten as tight as you can by hand and then give it 3-4 "clicks" with some padded pliers.
Many times those 2 actions can cure the erratic patterns that are sometimes seen with 870s.
Lastly, do you still have the original barrel for your 870?

I'm sure there's a need for a deep cleaning. This barrel is my used and abused duck gun barrel. The only barrel I have for the 870 Mag is a rifled slug barrel. I'll shoot you a PM about the deep cleaning.
