Post by: jjnfla on February 03, 2013, 07:56:10 PM
Iam going to buy one this week got two different options to chose from 1 is all black syn from wal mart 28" barrel express non ribbed  barrel for 299 #2 is a express with wood stock with ribbed 28" barrel 320
My questions is does the ribbed barrel make a difference,I plan on changing stocks to the shurshot and useing ffIII..so sight and stock arent a problem.Any help on ribbed barrel or not would be great...

Some food for thought for ya remington is offering a 30 dollar main in rebate for the super magnum and you can get one for 357 at walmart in hardwoods hd camo and it comes with a super cell pad and 26 inch pipe.  I just bought one last monday.

I agree and I would rather have the 26 over a 28 anyday

If it would happen to have a point of impact issue, the ribbed barrel allows for an easy fix with fiber optic sights.
28 inches is a long turkey gun barrel as well. I tend to think longer leads to more accuracy, but sacrificing a few inches for maneuverability in the woods is a nice trade off.

Also... camo finish is fairly desirable not only for its masking quality's vs. keen turkey eyes, but it also protects your gun. Buying a camo gun from the start is more expensive than buying a wood stock in most cases. But to get a gun custom dipped in camo can be very expensive...

I'd buy the Supermagnum recommended by devin4484.  It's already setup for turkey hunting and you can shoot 2.75, 3, and 3.5" shells in it, plus it comes in camo, has a vented rib barrel and  a recoil reducing shoulder pad.    :fud:      :newmascot:
