Title: Browning Maxus turkey loads?
Post by: Ky Gobbler on February 03, 2013, 02:51:41 PM
My brother has a browning Maxus with a kicks .680 choke and was needing recommendations on what turkey loads might shoot best in this setup. He's wanting to use 3.5 in 5 shot, preferably lead shot because its cheaper. If anyone has had any experience with this gun, any feedback would be appreciated.

He may want to take a look at the Browning Full Strut Turkey choke. It has a .640 exit diameter and throws great patterns. The only downside is the price, something over $110.00 depending on where he buys it. I use the SSX with a .643 e.d., much more reasonably priced, and get great results. I see much better patterns with #6 shot in lead or tungsten-based shot however.

Thanks,
