Just asked this same question, sorta...haha.  Overwhelmingly, the response I got was the standard upright hen.  My question was which to pair with the jake, if I can only buy one hen at a time.  I was concerned that if I only had the breeder hen, then as the season wore on and the grasses got taller in the fields I hunt, that birds wouldn't be able to see the hen.  The upright hen offers the best visibility, plus, when used without the stake, it can sit flat with a little help from the old boot making a divit(sp?) in the ground, and look like a breeder hen.  Good luck.

i would go with the upright hen.  That is what i have and really like it cause it can be seen later in the season as grass and wheat fields get taller

Another vote for the upright hen.
