Title: Remington Ventilator Choke
Post by: MiamiE on January 31, 2013, 12:31:29 PM
Going to start getting ready for opener next month. Last year I purchased a Remington Ventilator tube for my 870 Turkey Express, and I'm going to start buying some loads to pattern. The choke says lead shot only. What would you all recommend I buy to start off with. I'm thinking #5 or #6. Any reccomendations are appreciated! Thanks.

Can lead be considered anything but Hevi-shot? Do they even make steel shot turkey loads?

There are some turkey loads made that have steel shot in them and there are many small, #6 & #7 steel shot shells made.

Lead means just what it says, shells that have lead pellets only.

Thanks,
Clark

Buy you some Hevi-13 #6's or 7's and you will see some very good patterns with that choke.  You can ignore the lead shot only on that choke.  I'm not going to go into details, but I have talked about all this before on here.  That choke will work as good if not better than a lot of chokes that say Hevi-Shot approved.

That choke is good with Lead 6's, and likes Lead 7.5's too.
