Title: Metal Bands for Trumpet Calls
Post by: larry9988 on January 30, 2013, 08:44:04 PM
Where do most of you trumpet makers get your metal bands? Do you make them or do you have a source you do not mind sharing. If you were using rifle brass what calibers are most often used? Thanks in advance.  Larry

I have mine custom designed and built by Steve Lumma. He's got more talent in 1 finger then most do in their entire body.

I use brass tubing and shell casings both. Depending on the trumpet style. I cut my tubing and square them off on the lathe, custom made bands are sweet, they can really add to the esthetics of a call.
