Was lucky enough to snatch up another Star Dot for 835 but I noticed it looks slightly different than my other "Star Dot". One of them was bought from another hunter, without packaging. The second was bought with the package, and has stamped Moss. 835 on the side. The first one has 10 ports and the second has 12. The knurling is different, but other than those two things, they look the same. On the package, the manufacturer is listed as PTC Technologies, not Highlander Sports. I was just curious if anyone has noticed any difference in performance. Also, maybe what I thought was a "Star Dot" may actually be a Preston-Pittman?
The one with fewer ports is very likely a Colonial Arms choke. About the same thing, but not a Star Dot by name.
My choke is like the one on the left. It makes my 835 shoot pretty good
That choke from that package and this one below were the original Star Dot chokes. The owner of Colonial Arms told me the very first ones came out with this package below sold as a choke and sight combo. Colonial Arms made that Star Dot above and this one below in the ebay link.

The ones that say Preston Pittman on them are when Highlander Sports stole Colonial Arms Star Dot choke tube dsign and had some one else make them. That was the time that Colonial Arms stopped doing business with Highlander Sports and also due to the fact that they were geting behind on paying Colonial Arms. Highlander Sports may have changed their name at the time due to going bankrupt. But they ened up going under.
