No for me, I live in the heart of my club land, which is 5,000+ acres and I can be anywhere on it in just a few minutes. Gas here is $3.42 a gallon.

$3.55 here in Buckhannon, WV.  I don't know how much it will affect me.  My main hunting areas are at home and 1 hour away.  It will keep me away from my family more than keep me from hunting.  I just won't run back every day, even though I can only hunt until 1 pm.

I had $3.42 on my way to work this morning.  Don't think it will effect my hunting this year. Ya got to have priorities right?

$$3.67 - 3.69 on my way into the city outside of Buffalo, NY.  134 miles round trip to my property where I do the majority of my spring turkey hunting.  Yeah,  it's going to hurt especially since my union hasn't been able to settle a contract since 2005.

Try driving a diesel with the price at $3.79 a gal down in S.FL  and have a 2-3 hr drive to all my hunting spots. The gov has got us by the short hairs, but you still have to hunt !!!!!!!!! :chucknorris:

I have already decided to take the family van( (23-25mpg) to Kansas instead if my F150 (14mpg).  A penny saved is 2 earned!

Good luck

$3.49 here in Maryland. Won't effect my Turkey hunting, but my Dad and I cancelled our trip to Saskatchewan for waterfowl in October. My Dad is getting laid off in April, and with gas prices so high it just isn't worth it. Sucks because he has been going for years, and this would be my first year getting to go with him. Don't think I'll have that opportunity to spend with my Dad again.  :'(

It's going to effect mine some i have a 140 to 150 mile round trip so i will still go but plan on just staying all day and hunt maybe camp for a couple of day at the time.

Luckily, I hunt pretty close to the house. It's really a shame how we get bent over the barrel because someone in the middle East, China or South Africa gets up on the wrong side of the bed. The gas and oil situation is no different today than it was when gas was $2.25 per gallon. There's still plenty of it and there is no reason why gas should be going up 10 cents per day.

Ain't gonna bother me, i got all my stuff packed on the bicycle and just gonna hitch a ride behind an 18 wheeler to Kansas, then bike to my spots, gas, what gas, only from the beanie weenies

Gas here is around $3.59 a gallon and that goes up as you get farther out of the major areas. y Honda gets 24 to 27 mpg on the open road and 22 to 24 local driving. But it is 350 miles one way to where I hunt turkeys so being retired now it is going to effect me but not enough to but the new suicide cars they are pushing. They are installing car charging (stations or places) on some high ways now but I wont go there because like the nuclear rods and no storage area the batteries are going to be a major issue shortly. My two cents worth. But have fun I intend to!

If the gas prices keep going up, it may effect some of my hunting.  I had planned on a couple of out of state trips, but may have to just stay closer to home.  I will still go, but may not get to visit my best spots as often as I would have liked.

The price of gas here jumped from $3.19 to $3.35 on tuesday while I was at work. Will it effect how much I hunt, no. I will just have to stay an extra day on each end to justify driving the hour to hour and half each way.

Gas here is 3.49 gallon.  It will affect my hunting this year.  I drive past public land in Florida to hunt Alabama private.  If it gets worse I will start to hunt Florida.

I will not affect my hunting too much, just that I won't come home between morning and evening hunts like I usually do. I will also drive my wifes car (36 mpg) instead of my Chevy (14-16 mpg). I am going to work a overtime the next two weeks and that will cover my gas for the season, but if it goes up to much more it is gonna start hurting!

It will affect me some.  I plan on asking one land owner if I can camp on his land so I don't have to drive home every night.  The plus is that I will be camping.  I will also use my feet more to scout than wheels.  I hope it stops soon.

As of today the price of regular gas is ranging from $3.57 to a high of $3.81!!  :o

With almost two months to go till the opener it's only going to get worse.  So, I would have to say yes that it will affect my hunting plans this spring.  Going to have to try and schedule a few days off at a time just to make it worth the trip.  But, one thing is for sure...I will be going!!!  :z-guntootsmiley:

I will only get to hunt weekends this year and I will probably do most of my hunting 10 mins from my house. If I decide to go to some other properties farther away I'll invite a buddy and he can drive! ;D

It could effect whether or not I go to VT. If my FIL and I split the gas and take my Camry, it won't be too bad.
As for hunting NH, it won't affect me at all. All my areas are very close. Gas here is 3.39.

Well when the huricanes was hitting. They said that where most of oilcomes from. It did not matter about mid east. Now they say it does! It is all a bunch of bull! I know it will never happen but if everybody would just stay home a couple days. They might just change their minds. Just shut everything down. That my two cents for what it worth!

Just paid $4.17 for the good stuff my truck "calls for"  (So. Cal)
surprisingly diesel was 10 cents less, usually not the case form what I have seen.  Highest I have seen yet was $4.49 (premium) out of the city.

Those numbers have probably gone up since the time you read this...
