I know this has probably been asked here at least a dozen times but......
What is your favorite diaphram call???
Mine is the Woodhaven Copperhead II
Hook's Executioner
Woodhaven copperhead
Used Woodhavens for many years till Scott made me some larger framed Hooks diaphragms...now I'm HOOKED!!
The Hustler was my go to call last year.
Gman
I really like the Tops calls. The one with the dark green tape has been great for me. 4 for 4 (birds to the gun in 2010) with that call.
Just looked it up...its the "real hen."

1UP Game Calls Chuck's Killer "V"4 and Turkey Beard's RIP triple reed.
Cane Creek Calls/ Dead End :happy0064:
Hooks Jr Executioner 2
To me there are alot of good mouth calls out there. I make my own most of the time and would like to make them to sell but I am so slow at doing it I could not make any money. Last year Kenny Crummett gave me 2 calls from Cramers custom calls and I loved them. I found on here where they are having a Jan. special for $3.50 each. The 2 I like alot are the Pink Ghost and the Sweet Talking Jezzebelle. I order 3 of each. I like them as good as any call I ever had in my mouth, since Gary Stillwell use to make the Mt. State calls in the 70's and 80's. These are my favorite right now. Like I said there are alot of goods ones out there to pick from. Good luck and good hunting.
:OGturkeyhead: :OGturkeyhead:
Gooserbat Bacon and a custom ghost cut Sam worked up for me.
I think I have to say my all time favorite is the Split VIII by HS Strut. I started using that call shortly after I got into diaphragm calling and I have always loved it. I'm not one who likes overly raspy calls, and that call in my opinion has just about the perfect amount of rasp and it's easy to control. It's getting harder to find. I had to order them last year. I used to be able to find it in just about any sporting goods store.
Hook's Executioner
Knight & Hale Spittin Image kh013 for me.
XT Havoc
Hook's Executioner...Great call designed and made by great people.
I have been working on learning how to use a mouth call the last few months and have been using a Motherlode call....It was pretty easy to use right from the start and Joe makes some great calls.
Hook's Enforcer
I really enjoyed using the Halloran serial killer pack last season. Don't remember the names, but the blue one and the red one really sounded awesome!!
Latest favorite is the Hooks executioner. Back when I started it was an H.S. cuttin' 2.5
Hooks Devastator for me!
Mother Lode X-Terminator.
TRKYHTR
I'm a huge fan of the XT Kee :icon_thumright:
Still using the H.S. Premium Flex cuttin' 2.5. Not that good on a diaphragm but it works for me when needed and I can pick them up at the local stores.
The Hooks Executioner 2 flat out makes me a better caller. I've got a killer combo cut one from David Halloran too
I have used some of the calls mentioned on here and they blew out either before or during the season. I have had the best luck with Knight and Hale. I have had some of their diaphrams for years. Really like the warlock.
I like my Hooks.. My favorite may be a Cane Creek C.C. Smoker ;D
Eastern Special by Southland Gamecalls.
Woodhaven Copperhead for calls available in stores.
Don't even know the name of the specific calls, but Sunrise Calls--local guy from Louisiana--makes some good ones as well. I just call him and tell him what I want and he sends me some in the mail.
Looks like the Hooks calls are well represented here as well. I may have to try them out.
Perfection Game calls ,Trifecta

x2 enough said.
Seems like every year I find a new favorite. Started with Quakerboy raspy old hen in 1985, hundreds later? Scott Hooks put out some really great calls, the Executioner2 and Persuader were last years favs. Just got a couple from Lyle at Houndstooth that are going bring'em runnin the Diamond x3 runs great.
Legacy game calls for me, preferably the Hacksaw and the Fatal Attraction. I have used many different brands and Legacy has proven the best fit for me going on several years now.
Really digging the hooks executioner.
Gooserbat either the Hillbilly or Bacon, but I'm bias.
HOOKS SASSY GAL 3
Primos Stacked Frame or Piggyback calls. My two favorites in the series are the "True Double" and "True Triple". The true double has been around for years. It was Wilbur Primos's first production call. The gobbler in my avatar was called in last spring with the triple frame "True Triple"
1.A ) Hooks - Executioner
1. B) Cane Creek - Cutter

when did this happen? i couldnt use them before because they were too small for me.
It varies every year. Probably due to my inconsistency. :character0029: Last year was a Hooks, can't recall which one exactly.
I really like the Woodhaven Red Wasp too.
Hooks Executioner is tough to beat!
You guys need to give Rush Mouth Calls a try. Really are easy to use like Hooks. I love the "youngin" Rush call but they are all great.
Woodhaven redwing been my go-to for a few years now. Also like hooks and cane creek
hooks executioner
Mine seems to change every year, last year it was a David Halloran TKO
I may have to try a Gooserbat bacon this year, maybe a Tom Teasers butt naked hen to go along with my Hooks Executioner. Gotta mix it up sometimes
Anyone using Brooksides diaphragms?? Just curious, because @ $2.10 if they're any good that would be a bargin.

Never heard of them. That is really cheap, that hardly covers cost of materials!
Well my favorite was Woodhaven's Raspy Red Reactor but recently I've been loving the Yellow Venom from Woodhaven. Getting some great tones out of it right now!!!
Hard to pick just one but it has to be the WH Copperhead. Houndstooth and Gooserbat are close seconds
Thanks Lonnie.. Picked up up 4 of Cramers diaphragms, 2 Jezzebelles, and 2 Suzy's great calls for a great price. Some of these call makers are gettin pretty pricey on their diaphragms.. Thanks Again !!

I guess I should be more specific...not a larger frame, but larger tape like the Woodhavens.
Just call Scott and he'll make them for you

Goes without saying that my favorite call is a 1Up call. Even though we have a "Turkey Beard's R.I.P." (named because I'm a funeral director), my favorite of ALL is the Three Gumodies (Italian for "girlfriends") Premium. I've never found a call that, once broken in, is so easy to use including purrs.
I've burned through maybe 1000+ mouth calls since I picked my first one up in 1978 or so.
I was fine with Primos, etc. when all the calls were $5.00+-.
But I'm not fine with $10-$12 mouth calls anymore, so I went searching for a better solution, and I found it with Mother Lode Calls.
I prefer the X-Terminator, and I could pick it out from a stack of calls as their flagship mouth call.
My first order was for 6 calls, my next order will be for 12 calls, as I'm hard on calls, and I love fresh calls :)
One less thing to worry about....
mudhen
1) Top calls out of Renovo Pa.
2) Quakerboy-Screamin' Green.
They all gotta be four reeds!
Tom teasers butt naked hen!

Promos diamond cutter for me
Mine would have to be Mountain Screamer 4 reed drop cutter. Every year I get about 5 or so more to try out. The Mountain Screamer is almost the only one that keeps going back to my vest. Last year I tried out the Zink line with Wicked Sister. I like that call as well. This year I picked up a Woodhaven Raspy Red Reactor (which sounds wonderful), Hook's Devastator (awesome), Primos Long Hooks (not too impressed), and a MAD Billy Yargus Deadly Touch (Amazing). If you couldn't tell I love a raspy call. This year I'm sure the ones that are going to be sitting in my vest are the Mountain Screamer, Zink, Woodhaven, Hooks, and MAD.
Woodhaven copperhead2 and when they made them primos boss hogg
